Miranda Journey makes music for the beautifully complicated moments. Blending indie pop, alternative rock, and folk influences, the Southern Ontario singer-songwriter crafts songs that pair unflinching honesty with irresistible melody, delivered through a voice that can move from intimate vulnerability to soaring catharsis in a matter of bars.
Raised in a small beach town and surrounded by music from an early age, Journey found her footing as both a songwriter and performer long before stepping onto festival stages. Busking as a teenager sharpened her instincts for connecting with audiences, teaching her how to hold attention with little more than an instrument, a story, and a song worth hearing.
Over the last decade, she has steadily carved out her place within Ontario's independent music scene through original releases, collaborations, and a growing reputation as a captivating live performer. Her 2018 acoustic EP, Skin and Bones, introduced listeners to her heartfelt songwriting, while later singles including “Oh My!” and “Headspace” expanded her sonic palette. Those songs would eventually find a home on her debut full-length album, The Art of Coping (2023), a collection that balances introspective lyricism with shimmering indie-rock energy and thoughtful production.
Journey's momentum has carried her onto notable festival stages across Ontario. In 2019, she earned a coveted spot in the Youth Discoveries program at the Summerfolk Arts & Crafts Festival, performing alongside artists including Alysha Brilla and Kathleen Edwards. She later appeared at the first Four Winds Music Festival, sharing the bill with acclaimed artists such as Sarah Harmer, Danny Michel, Julian Taylor, and more.
On stage, Journey performs as a duo with drummer Chris Ross of Randy and the Rukus, adding depth and texture to her live performance.
Influenced by artists like Angel Olsen, Florence + the Machine, and Hop Along, Journey’s music moves between tension and release, carried by emotionally direct songwriting and dynamic live performance.
